Iceland Volcano Photography Tour
Sorry, there are currently no dates available. If you are interested in future dates, please join the waiting list below.
Join The Waiting ListThis is a workshop with a difference, a very big difference! We will be seizing one of the rarest opportunities to photograph nature in its rawest state as the surface of the earth cracks and molten lava flows freely.
Last Minute Opportunity
The Fagradalsfjall Volcano lies in the South West of Iceland and is now erupting for the second time, and scientific reports suggest that this eruption will be bigger with more lava flows. We will use our time out to walk to many of the best vantage points with our cameras to witness this truly amazing feat of nature.
We will be exploring views from the mountains into the crater wherever possible, along with getting as close to the lava flows lower down. As is often the case in Iceland, there may be the opportunity to photograph the Aurora Borealis above the eruption site. Now that would be a photograph to behold!
Having the opportunity to photograph an erupting volcano is an incredible experience indeed and we have chosen to run this once in a lifetime workshop with very short notice to take advantage of this event. We will be based just twenty minutes away, so there will be no long drives to where we start our walks to the volcano.
"See one of nature’s most spectacularly power and beautiful events"
We will be using periods of low light such as very early in the morning, heading out before sunrise, and working until the night falls maximising the blue hours of the day. We will be having some periods of rest as and when needed.
If you want to see one of nature’s most spectacularly power and beautiful events, then this tour will certainly have that, and you could go home with some of the most beautiful photographs you have ever taken. We hope you can make it along.
5 Days
We will be limiting this workshop to just six photographers to enable your tour leader, Paul Gallagher to maximise his time with you should you need it and enabling a more intimate group.
High. A good level of fitness is required. Walking on trails will be required some of which will take over an hour to ensure that we get the best vantage points to photograph the volcano.
