Iceland Volcano Photography Tour

The Fagradals­f­jall Vol­cano lies in the South West of Ice­land and is now erupt­ing for the sec­ond time, and sci­en­tif­ic reports sug­gest that this erup­tion will be big­ger with more lava flows. We will use our time out to walk to many of the best van­tage points with our cam­eras to wit­ness this tru­ly amaz­ing feat of nature.

We will be explor­ing views from the moun­tains into the crater wher­ev­er pos­si­ble, along with get­ting as close to the lava flows low­er down. As is often the case in Ice­land, there may be the oppor­tu­ni­ty to pho­to­graph the Auro­ra Bore­alis above the erup­tion site. Now that would be a pho­to­graph to behold!

Hav­ing the oppor­tu­ni­ty to pho­to­graph an erupt­ing vol­cano is an incred­i­ble expe­ri­ence indeed and we have cho­sen to run this once in a life­time work­shop with very short notice to take advan­tage of this event. We will be based just twen­ty min­utes away, so there will be no long dri­ves to where we start our walks to the volcano.

We will be using peri­ods of low light such as very ear­ly in the morn­ing, head­ing out before sun­rise, and work­ing until the night falls max­imis­ing the blue hours of the day. We will be hav­ing some peri­ods of rest as and when needed.

If you want to see one of nature’s most spec­tac­u­lar­ly pow­er and beau­ti­ful events, then this tour will cer­tain­ly have that, and you could go home with some of the most beau­ti­ful pho­tographs you have ever tak­en. We hope you can make it along.
