Chris Cullen ARPS
Chris has been a keen photographer for over 40 years. He grew up in Edinburgh and East Lothian. He started out shooting 35mm transparencies and B&W film, before moving to mainly digital work in more recent times.
Chris has specialised in landscape photography for many years. After a long career in the NHS, he is now a full time professional photographer expressing his love of the natural world. Woodland B&W film photography has been a special side interest in the last few years. His abiding love is for the landscapes and coast of his native Scotland, in particular East Lothian and Assynt & Coigach.
As well as innumerable trips exploring Scotland, England and Wales, he has had multiple visits to Iceland, the USA, Canada, Norway, India, Nepal and Morocco. He has also explored all over Europe plus Costa Rica, Mexico and Tanzania.
Chris has been published several times, with multiple articles in OnLandscape Magazine, Landscape Photography Magazine, and Aspect2i’s own Expressions Journal. He has also had images published in Conde Nast Traveller, The Scotsman, Essential Suffolk, Country Life and various gardening and outdoor magazines.
Chris has been a finalist in International Garden Photographer of The Year, commended, shortlisted and exhibited multiple times in Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year and in Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year. He collaborates in local photography projects including publications.
Chris shoots a mixture of digital (colour and infrared) and medium format b&w film. He is a proficient user of Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Topaz Photo AI etc. He loves helping other photographers explore and experience the landscape and is always keen to assist with creative vision and refining and perfecting their work.
